iMazing pricing in 2026: every plan, and what is free
iMazing changed how it sells in 2025, and its store now shows a price per number of devices rather than one figure. Here is every plan, what the free version actually lets you do, and how to pick the cheapest plan that covers what you need.
Short answer
iMazing has been subscription only since June 2025. The Personal plan starts at $29.99 a year for 1 device, before tax (read from iMazing's store on 8 October 2026). The free version is a trial that caps transfers, for example at 25 WhatsApp items, so exporting a real chat history needs a paid plan.
Prices read from iMazing's own store on 8 October 2026, in US dollars before tax.
A disclosure before anything else: we make Chatcove, an app that competes with one part of iMazing, its WhatsApp export. Everything about iMazing on this page comes from iMazing's own store, licensing policy and FAQ, linked at the bottom, so you can check each number yourself.
Personal plans
For personal use. Every plan is a yearly subscription, priced by how many iPhones and iPads you connect in a year.
| Plan | Per year |
|---|---|
| 1 device | $29.99 |
| 3 devices | $39.99 |
| 5 devices | $49.99 |
| 10 devices | $69.99 |
| 15 devices | $79.99 |
| 20 devices (Family) | $89.99 |
According to the store page, each plan lets you install iMazing on any Mac or PC, can be cancelled at any time and stays valid until the renewal date, and automatically frees a device slot when a device has not connected for nine months. The 5-device plan is the one the store selects by default.
Business plans
For use in a business, priced by device slot, also yearly. The Business subscription is also what unlocks the features aimed at legal and IT work, such as RSMF export and signed PDFs.
| Plan | Per year |
|---|---|
| 2 device slots | $89 |
| 5 device slots | $150 |
| 10 device slots | $275 |
| 25 device slots | $600 |
| 50 device slots | $1,000 |
| 100 device slots | $1,800 |
| 500 device slots | $7,500 |
| 1,000 device slots | $12,000 |
What changed in 2025
iMazing used to sell a perpetual licence per device. Its licensing policy now records that licence as sold from October 2020 to June 2025, and deprecated:
“In June 2025, we discontinued the device license and now only offer subscriptions.”
Renewals are charged at the list price in effect at the time of renewal, per the same policy, so the figures above are what a new subscription costs today, not a promise about future years.
What the free version does
iMazing downloads free and runs as a trial. Its trial FAQ says everything is accessible, but the number of items you can transfer is capped. The caps it lists include:
- WhatsApp: 25 items
- Messages: 25 items
- Photos: 50 items
- File transfer: 100 items
- Contacts and calendars: 10 items each
That is a fair trial: enough to see that it works with your device, not enough to get a real chat history out. Saving years of WhatsApp needs a subscription.
Which plan to buy
- One iPhone, and you want the device manager: the 1-device Personal plan, $29.99 a year.
- A household's phones and iPads: count the devices that will connect in a year and pick the smallest plan that covers them. Slots free themselves after nine months without a connection.
- Anything for work, or RSMF for legal review: a Business plan.
If you only need WhatsApp
One-time tools cover WhatsApp export for less than a year of iMazing. Chatcove is $9 once for 2 Macs (Apple Silicon, macOS 12 or later), and lets you back up and read your whole history free before paying. Decipher Chat is $19.99 once and Backuptrans $24.95 once, and both also run on Windows. The full comparison has the details and sources, and Chatcove vs iMazing covers what iMazing still does better.
Common questions
How much does iMazing cost?
On iMazing's own store on 8 October 2026, the Personal subscription was $29.99 a year for 1 device, $39.99 for 3, $49.99 for 5, $69.99 for 10, $79.99 for 15 and $89.99 for 20, in US dollars before tax. Business subscriptions start at $89 a year for 2 device slots.
Is iMazing a one-time purchase?
Not any more. iMazing's licensing policy says that in June 2025 it discontinued the device licence and now only offers subscriptions. Subscriptions renew yearly; you can cancel at any time and the licence stays valid until the renewal date.
Is iMazing free?
iMazing is free to download and works as a trial. Its trial FAQ says everything is accessible but the number of items you can transfer is limited, for example 25 WhatsApp items, 25 messages and 50 photos. Exporting a real chat history needs a subscription.
Which iMazing plan do I need to export WhatsApp?
Any Personal plan unlocks WhatsApp export for the number of devices it covers, so for one iPhone the 1-device plan at $29.99 a year is enough. The RSMF format, used in legal e-discovery, needs a Business subscription.
Do the prices include tax?
The US dollar prices here are list prices before tax. iMazing's store shows the price in your local currency and adds sales tax or VAT for your country at checkout, so the total you see may be higher.
